Were Texans duped into Prop 1? I say absolutely! Discussion at Collin County Commissioners Court tonight-- Friends, Tomorrow is our quarterly evening Commissioners Court. This is your chance to join us after work to see your county business conducted. We initiated these evening courts in order to promote transparency for you. The 4th calendar quarter session is held in Precinct 4. Join us Monday, December 1, at the Haggard Library, 2501 Coit Road, Plano at 6 PM. Some of the discussion topics are: 1. Review of Animal Shelter quarterly statistics. We recently started reviewing operational statistics for selected offices every court session. These statistics reflect the metrics of every office in the county; metrics that the Commissioners Court uses in large part to measure our programs. 2. Update on the Texoma Area Paratransit System (TAPS), the public transit system for most of the county. Routes and support by cities continue to expand. This should be a very positive report. 3. Discussion of the potential impact of an active request for an Attorney Generals opinion whether or not Prop 1, back in 2001, properly informed voters that it authorized gas taxes (in addition to the Texas Mobility Fund) to support toll roads with no requirement that the funds be repaid. As you know, toll fatigue here in North Texas is real and this AGs opinion may have an impact on our future. Sincerely, Keith For more information please visit my website: KeithSelf
