The only meaningful difference from one to the next is whether any given individual allows for the less meaningful differences, in and of themselves, to justify or rationalize being inhumane to each other. Patriotism or nationalism or ideology are all just different flavors of tribalism and defining other. If you believe other is less entitled, by virtue of being other, to the best all of us can do for us for all of us, then you arent my kind of people...which doesnt mean youre not entitled to the best I can do for you. It does mean, though, that Ill probably be more inclined to do my best, first, for someone I know would do their best for you, whether youre other or not.
