Were are not all going to just sell our cars, plant gardens in the yard, and stop heating our homes tomorrow. If everybody just did a few little things like drive more fuel efficient cars, give up eating so much meat, turn the thermostat down, recycle when you can, our individual carbon footprints would decrease dramatically. But all of that is for naught of we dont act politically and elect people who will push a more green agenda, primarily through more rigid regulation of businesses. Lets face it, just like Standard Oil and JP Morgan didnt change without regulation in the first American gilded age, Microsoft, Apple, and Walmart sure as shit arent going to act environmentally responsible without the prodding of the collective through strict and binding regulation. - username Big B on an AlterNet thread
