They would then work independently on their assignment making use of the guide. The self mark sheet is to make them reflect on their work prior to handing in their final version. The O1 guide sheet is as the name suggests. The Higher guides follow a similar pattern. One change is having a phase 1 sheet and a final phase sheet as well as the overall. The intention is to give them the final guide sheet as a self check before they hand in their completed assignment.
