Were currently on a rescue in Whatcom County -- a husky that has been missing since August 3 was found trapped at the base of a waterfall by the father of one of the owners. The dog was found in the water, but not drowned. The husky may have been hypothermic, but some quick action by the owners dad helped out there. Its our understanding the family has spent quite a bit of time looking for their lost dog. The team got called out about 3pm and was on location not long after that since we were able to send some our fantastic members who live in Whatcom County. The team has spent most of the time working their way to the dog. There has been a lot of hiking and the team (WASART members plus some search and rescue members from other organizations like Whatcom Search and Rescue) are at about 4000 ft, and are very carefully navigating in the dark. The team is about seven or eight people. They currently have possession of the husky, who is about 70 lbs, and are headed back. Well let you know more as we can.
