Were family members supportive of your health & fitness goals over - TopicsExpress

Were family members supportive of your health & fitness goals over the Holidays??? How did you handle it if they werent? In reading some of the posts from my Coaches, many experienced negativity from family members who are NOT on a fitness & health journey :( Thats so sad to me! Dont get me wrong, I dont mean everyone should want to lose weight, thats not AT ALL what I mean… because to me, a fitness journey isnt even about the pounds that come off. What I mean is, EVERYONE should have fitness and health as a part of their life because its the BODY they were given and live in. No outfit, food or material item feels as good as fit feels! I think some who have never really been fit view fitness narrowly as weight loss and if they dont want to lose weight, why should they eat healthy or workout? < ok, so I guess you just let your muscles and your body deteriorate and subject yourself to illnesses, injuries, faster aging, and general unhealthy habits? I know finding time to workout and eat right is NOT easy… it isnt easy for anyone.. but I hope we can inspire more people to make it a higher priority and a lifestyle. If you experienced this negativity, please know its not your fault they have the perception they do. But also realize YOU could be the one who finally helps them flip their switch and to be honest, sometimes you will have to endure some negative comments, lack of follow thru, and frustrations along the way. Sometimes family members are the toughest critics; im not sure why. But keep putting yourself out there and doing what you do in a way that appeals to THEIR interests but doesnt lecture or push :) The more you push, the more they will want to defend their stance. The ones who want to live better, for their significant others, their kids, their grandkids and for themselves, will join you in fitness when you least expect it! You cant push or try to convince, you can only lead by example, CONSISTENTLY, and connect their issues/goals to solutions and support!
