Were here! On board the Serenade of the Seas waiting to get into our cabin. It is a gorgeous ship, all decorated for Christmas and Hanukkah. So far every crew member we have met has been lovely. The boarding process was easy and very well organized. Enjoying the sounds of the band in the atrium while sipping some hot chocolate (it is a bit chilly out on deck). A few check-in notes that I hadnt experienced before (it has been a while since I cruised so this may be new only to me!). They open check-in at 10:30 (at least here in New Orleans). You then move to a waiting area where they board by zone - Pinnacle and Suites first, Diamond / Diamond Plus etc. next - I think they said five zones to cover the C&A levels, then general boarding by group numbers that they distributed. Also, when going through security they made me unpack my bottles of wine from my carry-on, including the bubble wrap, and recorded the exact label information on a sheet and noted my name and cabin number. I then got the wine back to walk on. Everyone seems to be in such festive moods - how could they not given this gorgeous decked out ship? This is going to be a great week.
