Were hiring! BAN Toxics! (BT) is an independent non-profit environmental NGO focused on toxics prevention, environmental justice, and children’s health. BT is looking for qualified applicants for a full-time project-based position as Technical Support Campaigner (Kalinga Area). The Techinical Support Campaigner will provide assistance in coordination and communication of Ban Toxics’ ongoing program in Kalinga area and is directly involved in the development and implementation of action plan, under the supervision of the Kalinga Community Coordinator and ASGM Field Coordinator for Luzon. Contract Duration: 12 months Key Responsibilities: • Provide coordination support in the implementation of campaigns and advocacy in Kalinga. Stay abreast of issues. Conduct research and investigations. • Work with teammates to develop and implement effective campaign plans and strategies to draw attention to ecological abuse, gender dynamics in ASGM communities, and plight of child laborers in the area. • Provide coordination support to BT activities, such as, but not limited to Toxics-Free Schools Program in Camarines Norte. • Maintain active liaison with key stakeholders in specific campaign issue(s). Actively seek out and participate in discussions with influential individuals and groups. Communicate and engage with inter-governmental bodies and government officials related to environment policies and issues. • Research and analyze a wide range of specialized material on campaign issues and strategies. • Promote support within Ban Toxics to advance campaign goals. Work with other teammates to organize actions, activities, and other events. • Perform other duties as assigned or required by ASGM Programme Manager and ASGM Field Coordinator. Requirements: • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in social, health and environmental sciences, environmental management, community development natural resource management or development studies with environmental specialisation; • At least 2 years of professional experience in the area of community health, policy advocacy, environment conservation and natural resource management; • In-depth and proven knowledge in advocacy campaigns, project management as well as experience in development issues, policies and programs; • Must possess excellent communication skills in written and verbal English; • Preferably conversant in the local language of the project areas; • Ability to work in an organised and systematic manner and demonstrate professionalism with high level of integrity in the day-to-day performance of duty; • Good computer skills and knowledge and ability to use information technology as a tool and resource; • Good people skills; and • Willing to travel.
