Were learning new information after LaPorte High School was put on lockdown for about a half hour this morning after a student found a bullet outside the building. The following are two statements sent to parents from Principal Donna Campos: Good morning Slicer Parents. I am contacting you this morning to let you know that we are under a precautionary lockdown. There are no immediate threats or injuries associated with this lockdown. Again, the purpose of this lockdown is for precaution. The administration and authorities are following up on a student report of a bullet being found outside of the building at arrival. The crisis plan will be followed. I thank you for your support during this procedure as we strive to make safety the top priority. The lockdown is complete and we will resume normal operations at this time. We will continue to monitor this situation to maintain student safety and update parents as needed. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
