Were living in a time where its no secret that there are a lot of people who are struggling, many of whom never expected to be in the situation they are in, but life just happened. In this season, I want to encourage anyone who may not be experiencing as tough of a time to consider being a blessing to those who are in need. In doing so, please be very careful in how you treat or handle people who are struggling, as we never know what type of hand life may deal anyone of us at any given time. I say this as a person who over the course of my life has known what its like to freely give to others to help make a difference in their lives during difficult times, but I also know what its like to be in a position where Ive had to receive help from others. For that, Im grateful to God for allowing me to be a help to others and just as grateful to anyone who has ever helped me in anyway during a time of need. Because I know what its like to be on both sides of the fence, Ive always strived to take great caution in how I treat people who may be going through a difficult time and want to encourage others to do the same. With that said, if someone comes to you asking for help, first of all know that it probably took everything in them to even ask, but then if God lays it on your heart to be a blessing, please do so in a way that doesnt strip them of their dignity or cause them to feel worse than what they may already be feeling. Secondly, if youre not able to help, at least offer a prayer for them. Third, if youre in a position to help, let your help be between you, them, and God. Lastly, but most importantly, the Bible lets us know in Proverbs 19:17 that if you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord and He will reward you...Merry Christmas and may God bless you all!
