Were marking World Homeless Day - Friday 10th October - by raising awareness of the work we do every day to tackle youth homelessness in Edinburgh and the Lothians We provide supported accommodation for young people who are homeless We offer more than 50 bed spaces each night to young people in Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian Of the young people who access The Rock Trust’s services, 84 per cent enter employment, education or training and 96 per cent sustain more permanent housing We believe that accommodation, support, education and employment are the best routes out of the streets We believe that social networks are key in securing sustainable routes out of homelessness. We emphasize the importance of adopting a holistic approach in supporting those experiencing homelessness We aim to prevent youth homelessness and to support young people to build better futures We provide support, learning and skills necessary to alleviate crisis, achieve personal goals and build confidence in a practical way We deliver Networks Approach training to professionals who support individuals who are held back by isolation, loneliness and vulnerability as a result of a lack of positive relationships in their life. We provide emergency Nightstop accommodation - a respite place to stay, for those who need time away from their situation We provide opportunities for volunteering and work experience We offer one to one support, at our offices or at the young person’s accommodation We provide mediation and mentoring - to build positive relationships
