The school district intends to issue $15 million in bonds to refinance existing debt on projects such as the additions to Manteno High School and Manteno Middle School in 2006, past upgrades to the buildings and the addition at Manteno Elementary School in 2011. By refinancing with new bonds, the district anticipates saving about $1 million in payments annually.
