Were not servants of Allah. A servant doesnt belong to his employer. Were slaves of Allah, every single one of us creatures. If we were mere servants, some of us would be able to choose not to die. Some of us would be able to choose not to breathe the air or eat the food that Allah has created. Some of us would choose to disbelieve and still not be punished in the hereafter. Yet, no creature can ever claim to be 100 % self-sufficient. We belong to Allah. We, the Muslims, have willingly submitted to this slavery whereas the disbelievers chose to deny their slave status... only to enslave themselves to something / someone else: another person, an idol, their desires, their culture, their own mind, etc. Slavery is inescapable for those who were created. Being a voluntary slave to the Master of masters is the highest honor a creature can ever aspire to. As slaves of Allah, were completely helpless before our Master, therefore we completely rely on Him and Him only, to provide us with everything we need. Our lives, our deaths, our marriages, our jobs, our families, our material possessions, even our hardships and failures, everything concerning us is a Mercy from Allah. Only Him we worship, only Him we hope for, only Him we turn to. This is the true meaning of being a slave of Allah.
