Were very, very happy to welcome Dr. Jade C. Huell back to campus. She was seen wondering the halls and settling into her new office today. Dr. Huell was an undergraduate student at Columbia College where she earned a BA in Communication in 2006. She was an Evening Student. She also has a MA in English from the University of South Carolina with an Emphasis in Speech Communication and Rhetoric. Dr. Huell has her Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Louisiana State University with a concentration in Performance Studies and a Graduate Minor in Theatre. Her dissertation was entitled, Performing Nostalgia: Body, Memory, and the Aesthetics of Past-Home. She recently finished a Black Performing Arts Postdoctoral Fellow supported by the Department of African American Studies and the Department of Performance Studies at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Huell brings a rich and distinguished background with much to offer our college and the greater Columbia community. We are very pleased to have her on board and look forward to her time with for the 2014-2015 academic year.
