West Nile Virus Warning Issued 6/5/13 - The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is warning residents of West Nile Virus. The department says last year there were 57 cases of West Nile - well over the 10-12 reported in previous years. The first confirmed case last year was a Dodge County resident. An expert with the department says the virus is not curable, so prevention is an important step. That includes the use of chemical and natural sprays or oils and dumping long-standing water in containers, old tires, clogged gutters and bird baths. If suffering from West Nile symptoms which include fever, rash and body aches, consult a doctor immediately.
