Westlake School board to decide on putting new tax on the ballot: The board will decide Monday whether to place a new property tax on the May 4 ballot to pay for capital projects, such building and bus repairs, safety and security upgrades, textbook replacements and technology improvements in the classroom. Westlake government workers could see pay raise: Westlake employees could receive a 2-percent increase in pay this year, under a recommendation by the Westlake Finance Committee Tuesday. Westlake City Council is expected to vote on the pay increases at its Feb. 5 meeting. The move would put Mayor Dennis Clough’s total salary at $148,700, which includes a base pay of $136,700 plus $1,000 for every year of service up to 12 years.
