Westminster is currently dishing out fracking licences to basically tear up right across the central belt. Fracking is banned in Germany because of the dangers to their water supply amongst other health concerns. Experiences from those who have already been affected by it suggests that property values will fall off the scale and become unsellable for obvious reasons. I will make no bones about it, this horrifies me. The prospect of irreversibly contaminated water poses a great risk not to just our health but also to the food and drinks industry and agriculture. That is an appalling legacy to leave our children. However the questions I have to ask are - do you foresee any risk of fracking in the vicinity of a nuclear site? Does anyone gave access to information to show that there is no risk? Will the impact on the housing market as experienced by others cause the housing market across the central belt to collapse? For further info on fracking I refer people to Friends of The Earth.
