Weston super seagulls went into there first pre season friendly against kewstoke in high spirits after promotion last season and a good pre season training programme. With new assistant manager Iain Cullum taking charge of his first game while manager Justin Hester takes a well earned break from the game. Cullum gave seagull debuts starts to 4 new summer signings in Callum Murray, James brown, Danny dancer and Ryan Havard. Seagulls started straight from the start and was on top but went behind against the run of play but was soon level after a penalty from Havard to score on his debut. Seagulls then went in front from another summer signing Danny dancer, then 5 minutes after seagulls was 3-1 up with a well worked team goal scored by Ashley brown. The game then levelled out with both teams creating chances and kewstoke scored before half time when a crossed was missed judged by Murray and ended up in the back of the next . HT; 3-2 With the chance of roll on roll of subs Cullum made the changes at half time bringing on top goal scorer Paul Cullum. And two other summer signings in vanny and Dunkley making there debuts for the seagulls and it soon paid off when Kieran smith scored a well deserved goal. Then seagulls began to lose their shape at the back and kewstoke took advantage scoring a great goal from 20 yards to make it 4-3. Cullum changed the back 4 to regain the shape and it was soon 5-3 with dancer scoring a second goal. Then there was a change upfront to pair Havard and Cullum together a mouth watering combination and it paid of straight away with Havard setting up Paul Cullum to make it 6-3. Kewstoke kept there heads up and came back at seagulls and forced Murray to make 3 fantastic saves to keep to keep the scores the same but then slack defending let kewstoke to score their 4th goal to make it 6-4. With 5 minutes to go slick passing between seagulls put Lockery through on goal to score the final goal of the game, seagulls winning 7-4. Tonight seagulls team performance was brilliant with the new signings fitting into seagulls squad nicely but there was some fantastic individual performances from Kieran smith, Ryan Havard, Martin ferry, Damien Thomas but Cullums Man of the Match went to Danny Dancer .
