Westville Police Department’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign a success Westville, IL– Declaring Westville Police Department’s participation in Illinois’ annual “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” drunk driving crackdown a major success, Chief David Booe reported that more than 10 drunk driving arrests, 3 Warrant Arrests, 2 Suspended driver arrests, 1 Possession of Controlled Substance arrest and a total of 37 traffic related citations were made during the enforcement period that ran from August 16 to September 2, 2013. “I am proud of our officers for their hard work and dedication to making our community’s road’s safer,” said Chief Booe. “Drunk driving is more than a reckless choice by a few individuals,” He said. “Each year, drunk driving costs the lives of thousands on America’s highways. Westville Police Department joined forces with hundreds of police agencies across Illinois and nearly 10,000 law enforcement agencies across the country in this year’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. The recent law enforcement crackdown was funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns. ###
