Wet warm and muggy are three words that would describe today, - TopicsExpress

Wet warm and muggy are three words that would describe today, especially if you lived east of US 522 as heavy showers trained up NNE dumping heavy rains across the Richmond metro and points north and east. More of the same can be expected tomorrow with periods of heavy rain thanks to a stalled out frontal boundary parking over central VA, accompanied by a southerly flow of warm moist air thanks to an area of high pressure (or Bermuda High) sitting offshore. Much like today, by 7-8 pm when the daytime heating goes away, I think most of the rain should diminish. The chance will stay with us through Wednesday, but as the high builds westward the shower/storm chance will stay isolated for central, southern, eastern and northern VA with western VA seeing scattered heavy showers and a possible thunderstorm or two Thursday (4th of July) and Friday, and just an isolated storm chance through the weekend.
