Weve been In Memoriam this week, featuring artists and songwriters who left us in 2014. Songwriter Bob Montgomery passed away December 4th at the age of 77. Bobs musical history goes back to Buddy Holly--the two of them met while in junior high school, became best friends, and played at school assemblies and local events as teenagers. When Buddy went on to a solo career, Bob continued to write songs, including Buddys Heartbeat, Wishing, and Loves Made a Fool of You. In 1963, Bobs composition Back in Babys Arms was the B side to Patsy Clines posthumous hit Sweet Dreams, receiving notable airplay at the time and later being included on the 1967 Greatest Hits LP that has sold over 10 million copies over the years. Bob also wrote this un that was a hit for Eddy Arnold in 1967 and again for Billie Jo Spears in 1976. The song has been recorded by some 200 artists from the country, pop, and R&B genres. https://youtube/watch?v=XT-RcyMpSsk
