Weve been back from Europe for two weeks. I love the U.S.A., but there are a few things that I miss about Germany. (Part 1) -fabulous pastries -traveling by train . The German rail system is fast, clean and very efficient . -helpful strangers who go out of their way to help. When I asked in German if they speak English, they shyly say,little bit but most had good English skills.We had one lady who pushed her bicycle all around the neighborhood of our hotel in Munich, to help us find it. Another gentleman on a walker, kept it in the electronic eye of the train door so that we could make it onto the train. -Chocolate! It was amazing. I brought some home, but not nearly enough! (FYI German chocolate is named after its american inventor, not the country.) -Walking a LOT! I got very used to walking to the train station , but you have to wear comfortable shoes (I saw very few pretty shoes).
