Weve been talking about the Ferguson grand jury verdict on another thread. It looks like there is a much more provable case in New York, where a pólice officer put a chokehold on an unarmed black man and strangled him to death. I will bet the grand jury votes to indict. There has been some disagreement over on that other thread, but we all agreed that the American criminal justice system needs to be reformed, and that there are far too many cases of appalling behavior by American pólice officers. I keep repeating one statistic: American cops kill more than 400 people every year, and thats a conservative estimate. No other First World country has this level of pólice violence. In Western Europe the cops almost never kill anybody.
