Weve been teaching Ear Candling since 2003. Way back then the word - TopicsExpress

Weve been teaching Ear Candling since 2003. Way back then the word HOPI was used as a marketing tool. Having had a personal interest in Indians from an early age, I questioned the artwork on the caves that I saw on marketing material in 2003. When doing some private research on the subject in order to properly educate my students, and corresponding with the Hopi Elders, it came to our attention that Hopi had not in fact used ear candles so we altered our course to reflect this. Further research by Jili Hamilton (27 years in the field) supports this fact. We both re-wrote our books and updated our information. Quanten of Switzerland and Webb of Canada followed suit in 2006. Hopi Elder Martin Gashweseoma is coming to the end of his life and his carers and family have requested Practitioners not use his name in relation to Candling. Out of respect - we have done this and passed on the message to our database. Biosun have re-badged their Candles as original but still insist on using the Indian paintings on their cartons. These artworks are recent NOT ancient and certainly NOT traditional. As jili Hamilton mentioned in her October 2014 interview - the Hopi are too poor to fight this in court. We are hoping that other practitioners will follow suit out of respect for the tribe and their tradition. We welcome 2015 with our new updated course manual which includes Navel and Body Candling and we now offer heaps of information supplied by author/practitioner Jili Hamilton from Geneva.
