Weve got our first real haul of local staples. Alberto Najar brought squash, zucchini, calavacita, pickling and slicing cukes. Hell be bringing things through fall, and his prices are always reasonable. Weve also got yellow rattlesnake pole beans from south Mississippi. Much as Id like to think theyre a rescued heirloom seed from some familys private stash, it sounds more like some weird lab stunt from Starkville. And weve got a bunch of blueberries from Maxie, MS, down by Hattiesburg. If youre out this afternoon, stop by the Oxford City Market on the west Jackson loop and go play with Nate and Billy Ray. Billy Ray should have some fruit yogurts with him - if yall like them, well keep them around. Enjoy your day.
