Weve had a lot of requests lately for advice in dealing with signs and symptoms of Mortons Neuroma. As odd as this may seem, one recent clients pain was self inflicted. A very nice lady came by lucky foot seeking help in reducing her foot pain. She was of the opinion that foot discomfort is normal and all she wanted was a quick fix to make things tolerable through the day. We of course have a different opinion, which is if the shoes are fitted correctly there should be no pain whatsoever. After spending about 20 minutes with her we realized her pain may be a direct result of wearing shoes that are a full size and a half too small. In addition she was using toe spacers and a metatarsal arch pad. All of which were decreasing the volume of her shoes and causing excessive pressure to the affected area of her foot. The information we provided her was contrary to everything she thought she knew about her issues. So it took some effort on our part to overcome her objections and convince her to at least try removing the pad and spacers and move up in shoe size. The look of confusion on her face was quickly replaced with a look of relief as she started walking around the store with confidence. With properly fitted shoes her feet now have the room they need to spread out and relax. which equals no more neuroma pain for this nice lady. :-)
