Weve just been visited by Dexter an 11 month old German Shepherd puppy. Dexter has elbow dysplasia and the type he has meant that the two bones in his elbow did not fuse together as they should have done. Dexter had surgery at Davies Vet Specialists to fix the two bones together using a screw and pin, which you can see in the x-ray, and also to cut the ulna bone half way along to allow his front leg to grow properly. Dexter has been coming for hydrotherapy on the underwater treadmill to build up the muscle he has lost and to stop his elbow getting stiff. Hes doing really well and loves to play with his ball in the water and is also quite partial to a treat or two!
