Weve posted about this critter before but damn it all if it aint interesting. Almost invulnerable though microscopic (half a millimeter or 2% of an inch fully grown in length). Though theyre nearly impossible to kill, it is preposterously hard to breed in lab. As science is able to understand what makes these suckers tick, well apply these discoveries to medicine. In transplanting organs, patients would stabilize better while their transplants are prepped. Can you imagine being able to grow our organs in lab whilst infusing tardigrade genetic material? Even in an unideal, makeshift field hospital no determent would be observable. By augmenting our ability to sustain life, including oxygen deprived scenarios, we could make the entire gamut of existing surgeries and surgical procedures to come, as easy and as readily available as pizza delivery. Im going to do some hard drinking tonight. Think Ill swap out my liver beforehand with a new one. Always can do a keg stand longer, every time I remember to upgrade any involved vital organs. The risk adverse will become daredevils and base jumpers will post videos every time they successfully manage to crack their skulls open. Dude, you only shattered three vertebrae. Thats nothing! It is a very strange and brave new world were becoming.
