Weve seen a lot of these Hyper Mike Spinner PRO MODEL bikes from - TopicsExpress

Weve seen a lot of these Hyper Mike Spinner PRO MODEL bikes from WalMart come into our store for repairs. Yet another one today that was a Christmas present, so we are talking only a few days of riding before it started having problems. After selling the customer some repair parts (they preferred to install them themselves, otherwise I would have gladly done so), I remembered other issues that this particular bike typically has, so I called them to just let them know what to watch out for before other (costly) issues arose, and they were most appreciative. So, I decided to Google the bike to look up what they currently sell for (about $100 according to WalMarts page), and then I saw the second Google result was for the reviews of the bike on WalMarts site, so I thought I would go and see what people thought/said about the bike, because, frankly, I dont know how they keep selling them. Well, I dont know what planet these reviewers live on, but apparently the bike is the best thing in the world next to sunlight. I guess I stand corrected. Apparently the bike is amazing and virtually indestructable. So, there you go. And why wouldnt it be? Its a Pro Model (says so right on the sticker), which means pros actually ride it, right? I would love to see Mechanics Reviews of department store bikes. Im sure the reviews and recommend statistics/stars/ratings would be a lot less flattering... The reason Im pointing this out is that a $100 department store bike (while not being very safe to ride in the first place) can turn into a $300+ bike very quickly (not to mention a potentially hefty hospital bill) when parts quickly start going bad. (Note: There are a few reviews that, I would say, hit the mark correctly, in my opinion, but I would have to think the majority of them are staged.) reviews.walmart/1336/11065501/20-hyper-spinner-pro-boys-bmx-bike-black-reviews/reviews.htm
