We’d like to apologise to our customers who use route 7 to and from the West Wight for the disruption to this service over the last month, during the closure of Copse Lane in Freshwater and the associated diversions. Unfortunately much of this disruption has been caused by the road works which are being undertaken on behalf of Island Roads. They themselves have suffered from some extremes of weather which has caused delays to the completion of the road works within the anticipated period. The road works in Copse Lane are scheduled to be finished by the end of this week, subject to the prevailing weather conditions over the next few days. Unfortunately there are further road works, due to start on Monday 17th February, which are likely to cause more disruptions and delays, as Tennyson Road, Yarmouth is due to be closed for resurfacing for approximately four weeks. We’re working with Island Roads to confirm the dates and the actual extent of the road closure and are planning to introduce a revised timetable over the closure period which, we hope, will be more resilient to delays and allow for better timekeeping. It is our intention to maintain a half hourly service from Newport but arrival and departure times beyond Cranmore and Thorley will vary from those at present. We will publish this revised timetable as soon as we have confirmation from Island Roads. Thank you for your patience.
