We’re constantly looking at ways to improve our services here at Meningitis Now. Thats why we have developed a ‘Parent’s Chat’ section on our Health Unlocked Forum. It’s well known that when meningitis strikes, it’s a traumatic time for everyone, whatever the outcome. Some people can feel very lonely, isolated, feeling that no-one else understands, because it didn’t happen to them. That’s why we’re developing new ways of putting people in touch with others who have been affected by meningitis. You may already be familiar with our ‘One-to One’ programme – where we can put you in touch with someone else who’s had a similar experience to you by phone or email. But the Health Unlocked Forum puts you in the driver seat. Have a question? Have a problem? Have feelings you don’t want to share with your friends and family? Then share it on Health Unlocked – where there are lots of people, just like you, who have been through the trauma of meningitis. It’s a place where you can share your story, ask questions to people who have already been there, and get responses from a variety of people. A problem shared …. The ‘Parents Chat’ section of Health Unlocked is designed especially for parents concerned about their child’s development following meningitis. So please, if you feel that your knowledge could be of help to someone else, or if you just don’t want to feel alone, visit ow.ly/HeuOC
