We’re less than a week away from the GHFF 72hr film competition. Wednesday’s workshop for competitors is right around the corner. Come hear Matt Esteron’s editing tips before you launch into a 72hr deadline. The workshop is at the Gig Harbor campus of Tacoma Community College (3993 Hunt St. NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98335) on 9/3 from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. Then, all team leaders need to be at a 5:00 p.m. meeting Thursday at the Gig Harbor Film Festival office (right beside Galaxy Theater). The competition launches at 6 p.m. Thursday. Matt Esteron is the Media Technician for Olympic Colleges Digital Filmmaking Program. He has been making movies since the age of 15. After a 2.5 years of Video Production at South Kitsap High School, Matt enrolled at OCs Digital Filmmaking program and has since been hired as a freelance Director and Editor for Comcast, Cream Soda Films, and #1 NY Times Bestselling Author Debbie Macomber. As an independent filmmaker and YouTuber, Matt has produced, directed, and edited several successful short films. His most recent work, Recollection screened at SEEfilm Cinemas in Bremerton as part of OCs Student Film Showcase and is one of the best short films to come out of the program to date. As a YouTuber, one of his films, Bounty VS Republic has well over 200,000 views. Matt is known for his love of VFX, anamorphic lens flares, Blade Runner, Doctor Who, and his mad skills with Adobe After Effects.
