We’re very excited because this evening we’ve been invited by Her Worship the Mayor of Wellington, Celia Wade-Brown, to attend the Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards at the Town Hall. The best little airport in the world has joined with the Wellington Community Trust and the five local councils to recognise the work carried out by community groups in the Wellington region. The focus of the Awards is to reward the valuable contribution made by volunteers. We don’t know who nominated our volunteers or what category they were nominated for but we think our volunteers are terrific and we’re crossing our fingers that they receive some sort of recognition for their hard work and enthusiasm. We know that the other nominees are very deserving of an award as well, so it will be a tough decision for the judges to work out who is the winner. We wish all nominees the very best of luck. So, it’s off with the gumboots and jeans and into our dress-up gear for at least a couple of hours tonight.
