We’ve all seen horses that throw a fit when taken away from the other horses its been with. It keeps nickering and wanting to go back to the barn. Maybe you’ve owned one like that so you know how irritating it is because the horse is so absorbed and distracted by its own desires that it isn’t paying attention to you like it should. Do you know any people like that? I do. They’re so busy telling the world what they think that they forget to ask God’s direction and they are totally absorbed in making plans to do something all on their own. If we truly have faith in God’s Word, it will empower us to accomplish God’s will and purpose in our lives. Every morning when we wake up, we should rededicate our lives to Christ and ask for His protection and direction for the day. Remember what God ordains, He maintains. Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Psalm 37:23 tells us, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” Don’t be like that silly horse making a lot of noise and follow- ing our wordily desires. It says in 2 Thessalonians 3:3, “The Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.” God’s way is best. Remember “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him” (Proverbs 30:5).
