We’ve been talking about it for a long time and next year we are hoping to make it happen. The Midlands Old School Massive is hoping to put on a weekend event at the Birthplace of UK BMX, Redditch BMX Track. The original track was instigated by Halfords whose headquarters are across the road, to help promote BMX in this country. What better place then to put on an event? Sadly, the old track has long since grown over but there is a new school track there, club house, plenty of space for camping , a pub virtually on site and a location for our very own lake ride at Arrow Valley park. Tentative enquires have suggested Redditch BMX Club would support such an event, but there is a long way to go yet. We need to get the permission to use the site by the local council, which I doubt will be straight forward, but before we can make a proposal we need a date. Sooooo, would people like to suggest a date?? Obviously we need some time to organise it so January 1st might be too soon and we don’t want to tread on RAD’s toes, so I’m guessing around the 15th – 16th August is out of the question. So over to you??
