Whale shark released in Tibiao, Antique, Philippines A six-meter balyiran (whale shark) was again trapped in a lambaklad in Malabor, Tibiao, Antique, Philippines. Found at around 3:45 PM on Dec. 26, 2014, it was released back to sea by the fishermen soon after. A big bantala-an (yellow-fin tuna) and a big tangigue (Spanish mackerel) were among the catch during the regular hauling. The frequent occurrence of whale sharks in Tibiao, Antique, Philippines is a reminder that the people and visitors in Tibiao can also serve as protectors of this harmless giant. Thus, we are one with the community of scientists and whale sharks experts all over the world in their call to stop feeding the whale sharks, especially just for the sake of tourism, as it alters their migratory, feeding and breeding behavior. Whale sharks must be allowed to look for their own food, breed naturally, and seek their own natural habitat. Experience Tibiao! katahum/katahum-to…/the-tibiao-eco-heritage-tour/
