What I didnt like about that article is that they quantified love instead of categorizing it. Love for a spouse is not the same as love for kids and the kids dont need to feel like they are loved less or more, just that they should know that their parents key priority is to each other. I grew up in an environment where my parents put each other first but never ever said or did anything that made us feel loved less and believe me, they were professionals at their parenting. If I had to generalize, I would say its because American marriages are usually based on love and not necessarily political, social or economic reasons. So when the love is gone, people move on.
