What I have learned – 6 month edition 1. It is much more difficult to be punctual with a baby 2. Never assume the gender of a baby you just met…even if you think the gender is obvious. 3. People are quick to share their opinion if they think you are “doing it wrong” as parents. 4. Amy and I have gotten to where it is easy to ignore said people and do it the way we think is best. 5. Just because it happened a certain way with your child, does not mean it will happen that way with my child. 6. It really is amazing how babies develop at different rates. 7. When both Amy and I are working late and we set up a baby sitter to pick up Anna from day care and bring her home to put her to bed…it is helpful to actually give said baby sitter the key to the house. If I ran the world…things that would change: 1. Baby clothing would be sized by weight, not age/month (it is amazing how much of a difference in size two kids the same age can be). There would also be “long” and “petite” options for each weight range as well. 2. Baby clothing would not be allowed to have buttons; only snaps. 3. In addition to the HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lane on interstates, there would be a CBV (Crying Baby vehicle) lane.
