What I have realized is that the Devil most times uses the Ones - TopicsExpress

What I have realized is that the Devil most times uses the Ones closest to you to reach you i.e discourage you from your purpose; to prevent you from continuing your walk on the Path of Life you are on; to distract you from the course of following Jesus and the narrow way you are on and also uses them to encourage you when you are almost about to do the wrong thing- they fuel your fleshy desires and give you more worldly reasons to go on with them. I admire Jesus so much because he knew how to tackle all these situations. He knew what was the most important and what he has to focus on. He was a man with Vision! Before, I didnt understand why Jesus didnt answer his mother and his brothers when they came looking for him(Mark 3:31-32) but now I do. Jesus didnt answer them not because He didnt love them- He loves them as much as he loves everyone who were with Him that day but His love for his Heavenly father(i.e God) was more than His love for His family. He knew he had a lot to do, a lot to teach and a lot of people to heal which he was already succeeding in ( which I am sure the Devil was not pleased at so the greatest distraction he could use was His close ones) Then Jesus went home, but again a crowd gathered. There were so many people that Jesus and his followers could not eat. When his family heard this, they went to get him because they thought he was out of his mind.- Mark 3:20-21 There was also another situation when the Devil tried to use Peter, one of his close disciples to try and stop Him. Jesus was explaining what will happen- His death and resurrection to His followers when Peter called him aside to tell him not to talk like that! Then Jesus told him to Get away from me, Satan. By calling Peter Satan, Jesus meant he was talking like Satan. (Ref- Mark 8:31-33) We must be careful of what we believe and allow into our Lives from everyone including Close ones because sometimes your close brother/sister in Christ or your mother, father/sibling could be a stumbling block in your relationship with Christ! #La130
