What I hear that doesnt make sense to me about GEJ, can be illustrated below. A student sits for GCE, gets F9 in eight subjects and P8 in the ninth. Ultimately, he is judged on the basis of one P8 and five F9s, and declared a failure. His supporters however argue that he should not be judged on the basis of the agreed criteria for determination of success, but be praised on achieving P8 in one subject. Yeye rolling, while scratching my head in earnest! Note that this is only for illustration purposes, as I dont even see a P8 in the case of GEJ, just F9s. If we were rating for corruption, cronyism, lying, cluelessness, wastefulness, nepotism, tribalism, then top marks would be awarded.
