What I read, year 41: I read 39 books this year which doesnt sound so bad until you realize I padded my list with a very short novella and three books that I read with Ava. That said, I also read five or six 800+ page giants which ate up large chunks of my reading time. My five favorites were: 1) Yann Martel -- Life of Pi 2) Rick Atkinson -- An Army at Dawn: The War in North Africa, 1942-1943 3) Richard Price -- Clockers 4) Donna Tartt -- The Goldfinch 5) Eleanor Catton -- The Luminaries (A tip of the hat to Charlie Hustons Caught Stealing as well -- Its one of the most perfectly executed crime books Ive ever read.)
