What I remember about my days @ Mark Twain (1954 & 1955)...Tom & Becky Day...wearing skirts...required to wear nylons or socks (no bare legs) & sometimes drawing fake seams down the back of my legs (to resemble nylons) - homeroom teachers walking around the classroom checking our legs & actually touching them to se if we were wearing nylons! -stockings were held up with garter belts & boys would feel for them & snap them (which hurt!)...in line on the PE field the morning after I Love Lucy 1st aired & that being the only thing we kids talked about...9th grade graduation when my later ex-husband Willie Flinders & I were the tallest of our gender, so we got to lead the graduation procession...the final bell ringing @ 2:55 & running out to Walgrove, jumping in older boys cars to listen to Hunter Hancock on the radio (when Rock & Roll 1st came to L A)
