What I shared in a closed group about Ebola:...if the mods allow - TopicsExpress

What I shared in a closed group about Ebola:...if the mods allow it, I will share thoughts here. There is still NO outbreak at THIS time. So take calm. That said, over educated people like myself have a tendency to expect others in our professions will do the right thing. Fact is, most people cannot learn haz mat suits, or anything else, in one try. I had to learn fog of communication from field experience. CDC now knows fog in the field and hopefully training will tighten up. If you are not in Dallas, take calm. Check the news once a day, otherwise media will whip you up just so commercial messages will have better audience counts. If you ARE in Dallas, it is reasonable to recall what we were taught as children: wash hands, do not share food, drinks, utensils. Avoid touching your face, mouth, and nose after shaking hands, and avoid playing with sick children. These simple public health measures are effective. With the increased prevalence of diff if not impossible to treat bugs like TB, HIV, STD, MRSA, MER, etc, it is best to practice what we learned as children. There are enough people who do not vaccinate in our country now, that diseases once almost extinct are coming back with a vengence! I am constructive on fist bumps (anyone who uses public toilets should know why this is a good idea) and refusal of hugs and kisses from strangers. (Note: i have left the Ebola Trackers group due to the vespid ethnic/personal attacks from one of the faceless admins. In general I avoid groups with faceless admins, however, the Ebola scare could use some PSAs)
