What I would like to know is why are so many people blaming Leslie Miller for the power outages. First of all, he just took over as B.E.C chairman like how long ago ladies and gentlemen?? How long was B.E.C. here?? How many upgrades did B.E.C have since its been in existence?? Was B.E.C. designed for such a large population of people in little Nassau town that comprises of Bahamians, visitors as well as countless illegals??? Let me take yal down memory lane to jsut a few years ago when the former government refused to listen to Mr. Miller when he came back from Venezuela after making a really good deal on the oil prices so that Bahamians would not have such a high power bill. He told the government to not worry about the united states selling to us at their high prices and buy from Venezuela because we had to look out for our Bahamian people and their pockets. They ignored the man. Look at the high prices we have now on electricity because they refused to listen to him. The other day B.E.C workers been striking because he cut out the massive overtime that was causing the country millions for many years because those workers were collecting 2 and 3 sets of monies that they really wasnt supposed to be getting. The man tell yal the Bahamian people should not have to be suffering because of a few people who were getting ridiculously large amounts over overtime pay. Leslie Miller is one of the very few persons in government that actually is a multi millionaire that he became not by working for government, but by being a hard worker and building his businesses and learning how to budget and plan. Alot of these parliamentarians dont know a damn thing about business or about proper budgeting, which is why we in such a financial mess as a country today. They effed up the money doing all kinda tings that wasnt necessary and then now that they effed us up, they wa throw V.A.T on us to bail em out. They put the gambling bill for us to vote on but still gone decide to legalize it which therefore wasted millions because if they wasnt ga listen to the majority of the people after the vote, then why the hell have it in the first place to waste tax payers money???? Leslie is also one of the only persons in Parliament who has the testicular fortitude to make decisions for the betterment of the majority of people and not be like certain person in government who only lookin out for the pockets of themselves, their family and friends. He has his own money that he worked for. He has also been affected by crime having lost his son to murder. He knows how it feels to lose someone dear to him to crime so he is one who has zero tolerance to murderers and other criminals who need to be off our streets so law abiding citizens can feel safe again! Why is it that anyone who comes trying to make a better community or Bahamas for us, we try to discourage them by knocking them down and criticizing their efforts instead of giving them a chance??? Rome wasnt built in a day dammit and trying to rebuild something that someone before you caused major damage to is not easy. You gatta get all the dirt and rubble out the way first and then you can have a clear view to rebuild. Look at the dark bald headed MP from marathon (i forgot his name),. the brother is the only MP I even saw on the back of a garbage truck tryna clean up his community and was also accessible. What the people do?? They voted him out. We say we want changre and better Bahamas but we only talkin to hear ourselves because the people who want to try to help us to get better, we ridicule and discourage them. We are a black crab nation that still have the mindset of slaves believing that only things the white man says are factual. We really gatta do better as a people man. Smt!
