What I would say to George Zimmerman and all who think the way he does ...A Black man has a 50% chance of reaching his thirtieth birthday a 40% chance of being sane when he does- I guess that puts me in the bonus round. Maybe I should start buying lottery tickets. And whether six out of ten, five out of ten or thirty out of a hundred Black men advance to the penitentiary- no get out of jail card- it doesn’t matter- it’s all pretty shitty- a shame and a pity. I guess this criminal thing is becoming genetic. And if I can hang on until I’m sixty-five I’ll be able to collect the pension I worked myself to death for. Only the average life expectancy for Black men is closer to fifty. We retire early. And since my children will never collect the money you owe me, you have my permission to use it as a down payment on a conscience. You have been needing one for the last four-hundred and fifty years. And have I told you what you can do with that mule you owe me and my ancestors? Or where you can put them?
