What I wrote for momma and read at her service: Lisa Darlene Wilkins I woke up one morning Every radio in our house was on Mom was in the kitchen on the phone Singing the god bless america song Her voice soared through the speakers This was one of her many debuts There wasnt a country station in Nashville that Lisa Darlene didnt sing to If there was a contest -My Momma lived for those She won us tickets to the circus She won us tickets to the monster truck shows If you heard bubble gum popping You could grantee it was Lisa Darlene Give her a diet coke and a pack of juicy fruit She was as happy as anyone can be She never met a stranger Lisa loved every single soul Judge mental- it wasnt in her vocabulary Love that was her one and only goal If you needed a phone number She was miss 411 If you needed to call the White House My momma she was that one One of the strongest women She conquered situations most of us cant even begin to comprehend She stood up to breast cancer like it was the itsy Bitsy spider and squashed it with a grin Momma was a protector Ill give an example to explain Within the house came an explosion She grabbed me and ran full force down to Clarksville highway Come to find out -it was a baked potato in the microwave It caught fire and blew up But that- and any other day -Her daughter would be saved She wore her favorite color -pink She stood next to the love of her life I remember the day mom got married to the man that stepped in to be my dad and complete everything we needed in our lives Eeeeeeeeek That laugh -that was their thang If you had Lisa and Kip near You had laughter and was for sure entertained Mom became grandma in 2005 She couldnt have been any more proud and excited that lg came into her life She sped into my hospital room and plopt down into the chair Let me hold him -let me hold him-she excitedly yelled Not long after she said that -Gary-Lgs father-popped into the room Mom had sat right down on his long john silvers meal that he yet be able to consume With a shrug of her shoulders and her innocent smile mom said she was sorry and offered him his meal she had very well flattened out If it was her birthday - you better had got this lady a gift And if it were Christmas - you better had got this lady a gift She very well loved surprises It could have been a drawing Or just a simple card My momma treasured anything and everything she received with all of her big ole heart This world may have not been the best to mrs Lisa Darlene But to the world mrs Lisa was about as a perfect soul as any soul could be From the loney tunes to randy Travis she loved to laugh She loved to dance She loved god and she loved Jesus And she spread her love for them to anyone that gave her a chance Lisa Darlene -a daughter, an aunt, a mother, a wife, a grandma and to everyone a friend A child of god and now his angel May my mommas soul finally rest peacefully in heaven, I love you Lisa Darlene Wilkins.
