What Im using to make the Sol Invicto album: Drums: Mixing BFD/DFH and Ultrabeat (for demo purposes until we track them live and resample them) Synths: Albion 2, Imp Oscar, Gladiator, Massive, sometimes Blade but not often. Plus ins: Lots of Devastator and Kombinant for distortion, Valhalla for reverb and the waves plug ins. Software: Currently using Logic but will move towards using Ableton more, since it works better for the live application. Guitars: DI from Stephens guitar and a effected feed from the AXE FX2 Process: I tend to build up a synth loop with a hook then add in a simple beat until it can be stretched out into a song form, then we record the first guitar run and build it up from there. Adding fx and distortion along the way. I record percussion last as the icing on the cake. We are recording everything in a simple room, nothing fancy, my laptop is my studio. We are also going to be recording at 432hz instead of the standard 440hz, you might want to google that, it is rather interesting. Any questions, feel free to ask me.
