What Jefferson Davis Parish needs is a District Attorney with experience...not experience at being a politician, but experience in the courtroom. In only three years as a prosecutor, I personally tried ten (10) felony cases, with guilty verdicts in nine (9) of those cases - thats a 90% conviction rate at trial. As a criminal defense attorney in Jeff Davis Parish, Ive been to trial with eight (8) felony defendants. Of those eight (8) defendants, three (3) were found NOT GUILTY and one conviction was overturned on appeal. That means that the current administrations conviction rate at trial with my defendants is only 50%. In twelve years as a criminal trial attorney, Ive been personally involved in eighteen (18) criminal trials. Ask your current District Attorney how many cases he has tried and then ask yourself...who has the real experience to lead the criminal justice system in Jeff Davis Parish???
