What Just Happened Here? THURSDAY; I was out to rake the fallen - TopicsExpress

What Just Happened Here? THURSDAY; I was out to rake the fallen leaves from the yard and street, hauling load after load into the woods behind the house. FRIDAY; we welcomed weekend guests with warm cheery fires in the fireplaces and sent them out to enjoy a crisp fall evening in the mountains. SATURDAY; morning, we awoke to prepare and serve our fabulous breakfast, to find that it had snowed! Not just a flirty-flurry, but a verifiable full four inches! Our guests were as surprised as we to find that they were on hand to witness the earliest fall/winter snow fall on record. By SUNDAY; the white stuff had been reduced to a random puddle running along the curb and the occasional patch of white hiding in the shadows. I sit here this MONDAY to share with you of the events of our Halloween weekend and how strange this weather can be. We can still find fall color that has survived this unexpected snow – bright crimson, orange and gold. TODAY’S high temperature is expected to climb to 65-degrees. Back to fall and business as usual. . . See you soon!
