What Page names are allowed on Facebook? Only authorized representatives can manage a Page for a brand, place, organization or public figure. Page names must accurately reflect Page content. Page names cant include: Abusive terms: Page names may not contain terms or phrases that may be abusive. Improper capitalization: Page names must use proper, grammatically correct capitalization. Symbols: Page names may not include symbols, such as ! or ® or TM. They must include logical, correct punctuation. Repeated and unnecessary punctuation is not permitted. Lengthy descriptions: Page names may not be excessively long and may not include taglines or superfluous descriptions. This information can be added to the About section of your Page. Variations of Facebook: Page names may not contain any variation of the word Facebook. See the Brand Permissions Center for more information. Generic location names: Pages with generic location names are not allowed to have managers. We require Pages to be managed by official representatives of the topic theyre about, and no one person can singly represent a geographic location. Misleading words: If your Page isnt the official Page of a brand, place, organization or public figure, your Page name cant mislead others into thinking its an official Page or that its managed by an authorized representative. Other things to keep in mind: Qualifiers: You may use qualifiers in your Page name, but you may not have more than 2 words inside of parentheses. You cant use qualifiers to indicate location or use the word official in your Pages name, even if youre an official representative. Dates: You shouldn’t include a specific date or year for Pages that represent reoccurring events, since you won’t be able to update the date (ex: Facebook Conference 2013). Generic words: Your Page name shouldnt consist solely of generic words (ex: “pizza”). We require Pages to be managed by official representatives of the topic theyre about, and no one person can singly represent a generic object. Legal rights: Page names may not violate someones rights. We suggest adding information such as your Pages address and tagline to the About section of your Page.
